Jeep Invasion...

I never thought it would be so hard to find time to blog during the summer, so after a little time off  I am back with a couple entries... It was not your typical day at the shore for me... but on the beach nonetheless! A short drive done the parkway brings us to hell aka Wildhood. I really thought we were going to get shanked as we walked but the alley of death (name told to us by Jess). Lauren, Jess & I started our couple of hours in Wildhood with a Jeep obstacle course on the beach brought to you by the Jeep Invasion and some sun time with our tires in the sand...
You can do that on the 3 mile stretch of sand
that lives between the boards and the ocean!

We found ourselves on a mission to tackle the "Great White" roller coaster... At least Lauren & Jess wanted to take a ride... How upset was Jess when we got there and they were doing a "surprise maintenance" check on the roller coaster... her dreams had to wait another 30 minutes... It was at that moment that we came across this unusually clean bathroom in what is usually just another arm pit of NJ (the Wildhood boardwalk). I felt like I was in a really upscaled NYC subway station. The tile was fascinating and the bathroom was clean. Not what I expected at all. I think the only problem I had with the place was the cleaning utensils that were piled in the corner! They should've taken some of these to the first bathroom we hit on the beach. I am thinking that this particular bathroom was so clean because it was so hidden...

See if you can find it next time you brave the boards of Wildhood!

The Service always Rocks!

I decided to stop by and see my friends, boys, best mechanics a girl can ask for on my way down to say hi and to check out the progress on Lauren's house... I also wanted to make an appointment for a few things! The guys at Service Automotive are the best, most efficient mechanics around! I love visiting Wayne & Jeff, because no matter how busy they are they make me laugh and remind me how gullible I really am. There isn't a visit to the shop that the boys don't play a trick on me but I am honor to been able to call these guys my friends for 23 years now! I thank everyday for Paul introducing them when I first had trouble with my white Dodge Spirit. I have so many memories and awesome stories to share about these guys, but this isn't a blog about my cool friends, it's a blog about their bathroom. Service recently had a update to the bathroom and WOW, it was nice! I recently posted a picture of the bathroom on my facebook page and my friend Tracy commented saying "Cleanest public bathroom I've seen in awhile, where is that at?"

Russ: "I've seen lot's of shit, but taking pictures of the bathroom, really?"

I wish I had before picture to go with the after ones above... If I would have known it was being done, I would've, but either way I am absolutely amazed (the old one was never dirty though, just not this white)! I can't end this blog entry without a mention of Cesar who worked on my Jeep... He also does a wonderful job and I owe him a frosty sometimes soon! If you need work done, please don't hesitate to stop by to see the guys at Service. Tell them I sent you, because I trust them with my life! Thank you guys!

Killer's Birthday Lunch

Is there anywhere more suited for Kevin's birthday lunch than Miller's Ale House? The gang got together to wish him well before I took off for ATL! This place was interesting, large building... large tables and large iced teas! Amy was the first one to get there, because some of us are always late and I was driving them! She grabbed a spot in the open aired back bar, and what a nice selection it was!  I can't remember what everyone ate, but Amy and I got salads... we both agreed they were par at best! Vince & Amy had to go to work, so Kurt, Killer & I just hung out (the late ones)... I wasn't even going to do a blog entry for this place but after a trip to the bathroom without my phone, I decided to head back in. That must only mean something caught my eye. In the case of Miller's it was the sink... I loved it! The place was clean and several stalls, I guess it's a good thing with the number of people the restaurant held! The only problem is it wasn't that busy! Miller's women's room also had one other thing that I've come to like... the new automatic hand dryers... very cool... check out the picture! Notice the background... that was in honor of Killer! I guess I also liked the sign going into the bathroom, at least I knew which one to go into!
All in all, like most places I go, the company was phenomenal! Happy Birthday, Killer!

It's been awhile

So I was about to give this up, yes the blog no longer had poop appeal but then Grace sent me an article about bathrooms around Philadelphia and couldn't help but think that people actually read this. I haven't really come across an interesting bathroom in some time and am challenging Bars & Restaurants to step it up a bit. However, on my most recent road trip with some of the guys we came across this little hole! AKA Jack's RiverDive... now I didn't get to enjoy this place to the fullest because I was taking care of a few things outside... I will leave the details out because no need to share but let's just say I could've used the bathroom for this. The place was empty or maybe a few regulars. What did I expect at 3:30 on a Thursday? Well, actually I was expecting something like Brewers! The combination of 4 tables and no one in the joint gave us free range of pool fun, just wish we could've played PILLS! I did get a game of photo hunt & snapshot in...Oh, finally I felt a little bit better. This place wasn't that special but it did have a back patio, again nothing special. I decided to use this bathroom in the blog for 2 reasons... I felt like I was stuck in the 80's... Rave hairspray on the sink... oh, and people still carve initials in the bathroom stall paint... wow! Seriously I would've passed this place up if it wasn't for them both, kind of boring!

No tortillas, what?

Last minute lunch date with the guys, why not! Kaminski's was our most recent choice for food! I got to the venue a tad before the guys and sat down at the bar... I was presented with a menu & told the specials by the Bartender... they were "TACOS"... yummmmm, I want Tacos! I must first make a point that any establishment that serves Iced Tea and it is not fresh brewed has already lost points in my book. However, tacos might make up for it and of course the people with me is always a plus too! The guys got there and after a few laughs the order was placed... I'd love to give you the rundown of what everyone ordered (which I could) but really mine is the only one that mattered! I decided on the chicken tacos (was there ever any doubt) this was accompanied by a conversation about cilantro, I also ordered the potato heads (aka potato skins)! We received our apps and started eating when the Bartender came out of the kitchen to tell me that they were out of TORTILLAS! What? It was only 1:30 and the special was TACOS, is this place serious? Needless to say, I was not the happiest camper, but the company I held cheered me up enough to enjoy the potato heads! I was going to blog about the bathroom and even went in to check it out because Kaminski recently upgraded their whole bar; however, I still had a bad taste in my mouth about NO TACOS! Sorry but this place just doesn't deserve an entry regarding their bathroom... mostly because my ass was chapped.
Sent to me after I got to work!

All and all this was a great lunch date and if you haven't heard this before... I love my friends and my side hurts from laughing whenever I am with them! Thanks for just being you!

Special Thanks...

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to say thank you to Jake from State Farm for bringing a smile to my face with a NPH bobblehead! And it talks... here's my favorite!

50 is not old!

Let's take a road trip to celebrate a few birthday's, this time it's Vitales! The honorees were Kurt and Tommy Turf Toe! Before I get to the bathroom portion of this post I must point out a few things. The food here is amazing... My Gnocchis were amazing and had 3 plates of leftovers the next day. Vitales ambiance is really cool... Vince kept saying it brought him back to his old family dinners, everyone talking and enjoying each others company! I really do enjoy hanging out with this crew... laughs a plenty!

The bathroom needed a little help... The color was perfect and I enjoyed the simple vase on the cabinet but the rest of the bathroom was unfinished. There were screws on the wall begging for a painting and not seen in the picture there was this thing that was missing batteries and a cover on the wall behind the door. I guess next time I go I can figure out what it was. The rubber gloves on the toilet bowl brush was an added touch... I wonder if it's put there hoping a guest would clean the toilet so they don't have to do it!

Reading Material

Thanks Tricia! You have to love when your friends are looking out for you... Kinda funny that this article on phillyvoice would make her think of me but it definitely is a good reference. Looks like they stole my idea... but look for my opinion on some of these in the future... Oh and BTW, why haven't I heard about the sassafras one from my friends that frequent there... you know who you are! As my good friend Kevin Muckel point out last night... My Blog is great bathroom reading material... I'd be disappointed if you aren't on the pot right now while checking this out!

What a Breeze!

Another Happy Hour with some of the cool people. This time it was Bahama Breeze. Great suggestion Kevin Muckel! And good point about Bahama, Aruba, Caribbean, there might have been one more place on the list? Anyway, what a bathroom... The decor totally made this place fabulous right down to the palm tree TP holder! This might be the first bathroom I was in that had a mouthwash dispenser, very thoughtful for your guest! It was very clean and Gina pointed out that there were even fresh flowers in there, which clearly I missed. I was stuck on the mouthwash dispenser. As for the stalls themselves, there were 4 of them and I like the fact that the doors went almost to the ground and very spacious! I found it interesting that the neon sign that said restroom only had the lights on for rooms... not sure if that was meant to be that way but the more I think about it... ummm probably! The pic below doesn't do it justice! Man, I wonder what the men's room looked like... hint, hint! HaHa, you ask and you receive...  Kevin Muckel was nice enough to go in the men's room and take a pic of is...
Is this normal?
So on another note... I really think what made this night was the story that followed back at the almost gone Regal Beagle!I must add that once again Kevin Muckel had a great idea!
See?

COLDER by a mile!

You think the bar is cold, try the bathroom... Oh yeah and check this out. No HOT water in the place. The bathroom usually isn't that clean despite the cool display of 99 beers on the wall... There hasn't been a time that I have gone in the 2 stall women's room where there wasn't a space heater in it! I guess you can say I am not a fan of this bathroom... the only cool thing is the sign on the door and I do not like squirrels! In a nutshell anytime you have to talk yourself up to go to the bathroom there must be a problem! The two things the Irish Mile has that is cool is some of the bartenders and lots of beers (yes funnel cake)... However if you are trying to stay away from a very young crowd this is not the place for you. I suggest take the walk down to Brewer's... now that place is really neat!

I must end this entry with a note on how difficult this was to write... why you ask, because my co-workers don't shut up ever! WOW!

Not your typical diner...

Wow... by the way that's my new word! A trip to Mister Chubby's got called off so let's go to Ponzio's! I really didn't think about blogging about this bathroom and really there isn't much to say about it... Somewhat clean and surprisingly empty when I went in, the rest of the place was packed! Like they were giving away free stuff! I was told by Dr. Kushner who was sitting in his not normal seat next to me that it's typically like this on Saturdays and Sundays. Back to the bathroom... There was this really weird little space next to the first stall (as seen in pic below) that made absolutely no sense to me. It begged for something, I just don't know what. I am pissed that I didn't take a picture of the door handle because it was rather interesting. I even made another trip just to take a look at it and figure out the point to it... I still don't know the point. The most fascinating thing of lunch was my iced tea glass. I was on the fence whether or not I liked the glass, but clearly it got my attention, so I must of liked it, and definitely blog-worthy! Again Dr. Kushner added his Ponzio's knowledge and informed me that the glasses were new this year and he got some of the old ones! Maybe Dr. Kushner should blog about Ponzio's!

Polar Bear Plunger?

I am sure I will be writing about tons of bathrooms on the Isle soon enough but couldn't pass up the chance for Braca's on an extremely cold day in Feb. I don't frequent this place in the summer, so why not write about it when I had the chance. It seems we started a tradition of finding a little warmth in here while the girls are running in the 5k... With no run this year, the party started sooner than later this year. What a great time with a fun Bartender... please go check out Patrick, you will be entertained. Of course Patrick has nothing to do with the bathroom, so let's get to the reason you are reading this! As seen in the pictures I was really taken back by the sink...A tad fancy for a shore bar. 2 stalls were hidden by swinging shutter like doors but I found it odd that they didn't have locks on them. The place was clean, but only a small trash can that was over flowing with paper towels. At least it was a good sign that the females that used the bathroom were washing there hands. Thanks to my girls Jess & Lauren for going in to take pictures for my... Overall, I will say this might be the nicest bathroom in SIC, besides Linda's!

Best Burger in PA?

So... Business Insider had an article about the Best Burgers in the US by state... I had to go check out Royal Tavern because it was listed as best in Pennsylvania. I've already been to the one in Maryland, Yeah Abbey! Anyway, this place begged for a blog entry but first let's talk burgers. I will say the Angus burger had lots of flavor but by far not the best I've had... also tried the "free to be brie" burger and that was just ok! Abbey blows them away! So now to the reason we are all here... There was only 1 Bathroom due to the fact the other was out of order... Kudos for at least having 2 in such a Rowhouse style bar! Nothing really special except the bathroom was warmer than the whole bar, I had to visit it twice! Got to like when they keep the toilet brush next to the toilet... On a side note, absolutely no personality out of the bartender who served us and the woman that apparently worked there with the parka and slouch hat drove me nuts because it was an advertisement for "this place has no heat"! Either way the company made up for both ♥!

The place
wonder what color the other is?

A break from the norm...

I'd like to take a moment to send a shout out to my friend Kevin because I loved his bathroom! It was so neat and well put together! Everything went perfectly, from the wall art to the cabinets. I absolutely loved the tile work and pissed I missed a selfie op with the shower... but I did get to meet the gentleman who did the tiles and if I had my own place I would be looking for him to do the work... His card is below but you can find him here too!

No Abby? So go to Joe's

A trip to deptford to get seafood... JOE'S CRAB SHACK it is then! I've always wanted to try this place and so we did! Food was great! Bibs made us look ridiculous but with the right company who cares? Now to the bathrooms... The Contrast of the orange stalls and the white tiled walls made this place look clean but deep down, not really at all. It did have one of those new hand dryers and a baby changing table... I always wondered if they had them in the men's room also! What was really neat about this place was the sink in the middle of the dining room! Great Concept... especially if you are eating crabs!  On a side note... only I can walk of my house, up to the bar only to realize my home phone was in my back pocket... Oh and the best part was when it fell out of my coat pocket on the floor in the middle of the Joe's! The waitress played along, just like she should!

The day continued...

Taking a walk on the Forgotten Boardwalk and I found a delightful bathroom behind door 2. They stuck with the theme right down to the mirror collage mirror on the wall to the rope toilet paper holders. 2 stalls that were large and the place was clean... so no waiting! Yes I did check both stalls! I
know this is getting away from the whole theme of this blog but how could I not mention the skeeball machines and the funnel cake beer! Check out pics of their cool bathroom here!

In the beginning...

Farm & Fisherman Tavern in Cherry Hill gets the pleasure of being my first blog post... I mean hell it's where the idea was first created. I am not sure what you expect to find here and I am not sure exactly what I am going to write about the bathrooms I visit, I might even grade them... But I think I mostly like this bathroom because it had Myers soap... who notices the soap? I guess I do... I liked the toilet paper holder as well! I think it was a reminder of the one we originally had at the regal beagle that eventually fell off... This was a single person bathroom and really clean, pretty much all you need to know!
