Jeep Invasion...

I never thought it would be so hard to find time to blog during the summer, so after a little time off  I am back with a couple entries... It was not your typical day at the shore for me... but on the beach nonetheless! A short drive done the parkway brings us to hell aka Wildhood. I really thought we were going to get shanked as we walked but the alley of death (name told to us by Jess). Lauren, Jess & I started our couple of hours in Wildhood with a Jeep obstacle course on the beach brought to you by the Jeep Invasion and some sun time with our tires in the sand...
You can do that on the 3 mile stretch of sand
that lives between the boards and the ocean!

We found ourselves on a mission to tackle the "Great White" roller coaster... At least Lauren & Jess wanted to take a ride... How upset was Jess when we got there and they were doing a "surprise maintenance" check on the roller coaster... her dreams had to wait another 30 minutes... It was at that moment that we came across this unusually clean bathroom in what is usually just another arm pit of NJ (the Wildhood boardwalk). I felt like I was in a really upscaled NYC subway station. The tile was fascinating and the bathroom was clean. Not what I expected at all. I think the only problem I had with the place was the cleaning utensils that were piled in the corner! They should've taken some of these to the first bathroom we hit on the beach. I am thinking that this particular bathroom was so clean because it was so hidden...

See if you can find it next time you brave the boards of Wildhood!

The Service always Rocks!

I decided to stop by and see my friends, boys, best mechanics a girl can ask for on my way down to say hi and to check out the progress on Lauren's house... I also wanted to make an appointment for a few things! The guys at Service Automotive are the best, most efficient mechanics around! I love visiting Wayne & Jeff, because no matter how busy they are they make me laugh and remind me how gullible I really am. There isn't a visit to the shop that the boys don't play a trick on me but I am honor to been able to call these guys my friends for 23 years now! I thank everyday for Paul introducing them when I first had trouble with my white Dodge Spirit. I have so many memories and awesome stories to share about these guys, but this isn't a blog about my cool friends, it's a blog about their bathroom. Service recently had a update to the bathroom and WOW, it was nice! I recently posted a picture of the bathroom on my facebook page and my friend Tracy commented saying "Cleanest public bathroom I've seen in awhile, where is that at?"

Russ: "I've seen lot's of shit, but taking pictures of the bathroom, really?"

I wish I had before picture to go with the after ones above... If I would have known it was being done, I would've, but either way I am absolutely amazed (the old one was never dirty though, just not this white)! I can't end this blog entry without a mention of Cesar who worked on my Jeep... He also does a wonderful job and I owe him a frosty sometimes soon! If you need work done, please don't hesitate to stop by to see the guys at Service. Tell them I sent you, because I trust them with my life! Thank you guys!

Killer's Birthday Lunch

Is there anywhere more suited for Kevin's birthday lunch than Miller's Ale House? The gang got together to wish him well before I took off for ATL! This place was interesting, large building... large tables and large iced teas! Amy was the first one to get there, because some of us are always late and I was driving them! She grabbed a spot in the open aired back bar, and what a nice selection it was!  I can't remember what everyone ate, but Amy and I got salads... we both agreed they were par at best! Vince & Amy had to go to work, so Kurt, Killer & I just hung out (the late ones)... I wasn't even going to do a blog entry for this place but after a trip to the bathroom without my phone, I decided to head back in. That must only mean something caught my eye. In the case of Miller's it was the sink... I loved it! The place was clean and several stalls, I guess it's a good thing with the number of people the restaurant held! The only problem is it wasn't that busy! Miller's women's room also had one other thing that I've come to like... the new automatic hand dryers... very cool... check out the picture! Notice the background... that was in honor of Killer! I guess I also liked the sign going into the bathroom, at least I knew which one to go into!
All in all, like most places I go, the company was phenomenal! Happy Birthday, Killer!

It's been awhile

So I was about to give this up, yes the blog no longer had poop appeal but then Grace sent me an article about bathrooms around Philadelphia and couldn't help but think that people actually read this. I haven't really come across an interesting bathroom in some time and am challenging Bars & Restaurants to step it up a bit. However, on my most recent road trip with some of the guys we came across this little hole! AKA Jack's RiverDive... now I didn't get to enjoy this place to the fullest because I was taking care of a few things outside... I will leave the details out because no need to share but let's just say I could've used the bathroom for this. The place was empty or maybe a few regulars. What did I expect at 3:30 on a Thursday? Well, actually I was expecting something like Brewers! The combination of 4 tables and no one in the joint gave us free range of pool fun, just wish we could've played PILLS! I did get a game of photo hunt & snapshot in...Oh, finally I felt a little bit better. This place wasn't that special but it did have a back patio, again nothing special. I decided to use this bathroom in the blog for 2 reasons... I felt like I was stuck in the 80's... Rave hairspray on the sink... oh, and people still carve initials in the bathroom stall paint... wow! Seriously I would've passed this place up if it wasn't for them both, kind of boring!

No tortillas, what?

Last minute lunch date with the guys, why not! Kaminski's was our most recent choice for food! I got to the venue a tad before the guys and sat down at the bar... I was presented with a menu & told the specials by the Bartender... they were "TACOS"... yummmmm, I want Tacos! I must first make a point that any establishment that serves Iced Tea and it is not fresh brewed has already lost points in my book. However, tacos might make up for it and of course the people with me is always a plus too! The guys got there and after a few laughs the order was placed... I'd love to give you the rundown of what everyone ordered (which I could) but really mine is the only one that mattered! I decided on the chicken tacos (was there ever any doubt) this was accompanied by a conversation about cilantro, I also ordered the potato heads (aka potato skins)! We received our apps and started eating when the Bartender came out of the kitchen to tell me that they were out of TORTILLAS! What? It was only 1:30 and the special was TACOS, is this place serious? Needless to say, I was not the happiest camper, but the company I held cheered me up enough to enjoy the potato heads! I was going to blog about the bathroom and even went in to check it out because Kaminski recently upgraded their whole bar; however, I still had a bad taste in my mouth about NO TACOS! Sorry but this place just doesn't deserve an entry regarding their bathroom... mostly because my ass was chapped.
Sent to me after I got to work!

All and all this was a great lunch date and if you haven't heard this before... I love my friends and my side hurts from laughing whenever I am with them! Thanks for just being you!

Special Thanks...

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to say thank you to Jake from State Farm for bringing a smile to my face with a NPH bobblehead! And it talks... here's my favorite!

50 is not old!

Let's take a road trip to celebrate a few birthday's, this time it's Vitales! The honorees were Kurt and Tommy Turf Toe! Before I get to the bathroom portion of this post I must point out a few things. The food here is amazing... My Gnocchis were amazing and had 3 plates of leftovers the next day. Vitales ambiance is really cool... Vince kept saying it brought him back to his old family dinners, everyone talking and enjoying each others company! I really do enjoy hanging out with this crew... laughs a plenty!

The bathroom needed a little help... The color was perfect and I enjoyed the simple vase on the cabinet but the rest of the bathroom was unfinished. There were screws on the wall begging for a painting and not seen in the picture there was this thing that was missing batteries and a cover on the wall behind the door. I guess next time I go I can figure out what it was. The rubber gloves on the toilet bowl brush was an added touch... I wonder if it's put there hoping a guest would clean the toilet so they don't have to do it!
